Unit 1: Listening and Viewing with Intent

Big Idea: Listening and viewing with intent supports our acquisition and understanding of French. Reading French letter patterns aloud and recognizing how different types of texts are built — the comprehension foundation the rest of the course builds on.

Unit 2: Meaningful Conversations

Big Idea: We can have meaningful conversations in French about things that are important to us. Building the tense system, the four question types, and the communicative functions — describing, comparing, sequencing, expressing needs and opinions, and naming cultural aspects — that a real conversation runs on.
